$68,400 Resilient Communities Fund Grant For 360 KidsPublished on March 18, 2021

Markham, ON – Recently, 360°kids received the welcome news that it was successful with its application for a Resilient Communities Fund grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). On Thursday, Lesley Sims, Director of Development, met virtually with local MPP Billy Pang and Arun Prasad, an OTF volunteer, to outline the difference that the $68,400 grant will have on the work 360°kids does to help young people overcome crisis.
“I want to congratulate 360°kids for receiving $68,400 from Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Resilient Communities Fund,” said Billy Pang, MPP for Markham-Unionville. “During this unprecedented time, 360°kids continues to provide assistance to vulnerable youths across Markham-Unionville and York Region. I am pleased that through this funding, it will support the organization rebuild, support and recover from impacts of COVID-19.”
The Resilient Communities Fund was developed to help non-profit organizations recover and rebuild from the impacts of COVID-19 to continue meeting the needs of Ontario communities. Over the coming year, 360°kids will be using its grant to develop and deliver new online fundraising strategies as COVID-19 put a stop to many traditional fundraising methods. There will also be an online volunteer engagement strategy implemented.
“We are grateful to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for this funding which will allow us to develop tools to further engage our volunteer community using new virtual technology. While we look forward to offering in-person volunteering once again, we are thrilled to develop new ways to connect remotely with our community.”
360°kids is a one-stop agency with wraparound supports where young people can access safe, emergency and transitional housing options along with a full range of services including —clothing and food, personal support, outreach, counselling, life skills training, employment programs, education upgrading and job searching—designed to help youth get back on their feet.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations. OTF awarded $115 million to 644 projects last year to build healthy and vibrant communities in Ontario.
