Markham-Unionville Updates 

   
Alleged Cannabis Store Locations - Taking concerns from local constituents seriously, I urged both YRP and the City of Markham to look into the alleged cannabis locations in Markham-Unionville on Google map. I am pleased to report back that Markham by-law officers investigated by conducting site visits and the City of Markham confirmed that retail operations of cannabis at the said locations were NOT found.

   
 

$3M Investment to Markham-Stouffville Hospital I was pleased to join my Markham caucus colleagues to share this announcement. This significant investment will increase and make available 5 critical care beds and 15 hospital beds, split between two units, for patients in Markham and surrounding communities. watch here.

   
Remembrance Day - On Remembrance Day, I visited Crosby Memorial Arena and Veterans Square and Cenotaph in Markham to stop and honour the brave Canadian men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice and those who continue to serve. #LestWeForget #CanadaRemembers watch here.

Union Villa Long-Term Care - Happy 50th Anniversary to Union Villa LTC! Thank you for the outstanding care, love and service this facility, members and volunteers continue to deliver to our seniors. 

   
Local Business Visits with PA Stan Cho - It was great to have the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Finance, Stan Cho, at Markham-Unionville. We had the opportunity to talk to local businesses and understand how COVID-19 has impacted them. Click here.

   

SSE Care Solutions - Thank you to Albert Au, Steve Diakanastasis and Frank Law, from SSE Care Solutions Inc., for donating 12,000 medical masks to each facility, Union Villa Long-Term Care and Bethany Lodge Long-Term Care Home. It was a pleasure to arrange and witness this generous donation. #OntarioSpirit watch here.

   

Ann Chau/ The Singing School - Throughout, and before, COVID-19 Ann Chau has been an active volunteer in the community of Markham-Unionville. It was great to meet with Ann today to hear more about The Singing School and how students are volunteering at this time.

   

Mentana Group of Companies - I had an informative meeting with Mentana Group of Companies as they shared their vision of future innovation and economic opportunities in Markham-Unionville.

   

PEO York Chapter - Thank you for inviting me to attend and be a guest judge for your Children's Face Covering Design Challenge. I want to extend my warmest congratulations to Goods by Ginhette for winning this challenge!

   

SanQi and TSI Trillion Synergy International - I had a great meeting with the organization as members shared their thoughts on the local production of PPE here in Ontario.

   
Union Villa Family Council - It was great connecting with members from Union Villa Family Council to have conversations on concerns regarding long-term care. Thanks for having David, the Executive Assistant to PA Effie Triantafilopoulos, and me!

   

Unionville Residents Association - Thank you, URA for inviting me to your AGM. It was great connecting with members from the Association again, speaking more about how our government is supporting Ontarians and answering questions residents of Unionville are having at this time.
